Can CEOs Balance Personal and Professional Content on LinkedIn?

In this podcast episode, the discussion centers on social media strategy for CEOs, particularly on LinkedIn. Josh inquires about how CEOs can balance personal and professional content in their posts. Seth, the respondent, emphasizes the importance of authenticity and suggests that CEOs should mix personal anecdotes with corporate updates. He advises sharing significant company milestones alongside personal experiences to humanize leadership and foster a genuine connection with the audience. This balanced approach not only enhances the CEO's personal brand but also strengthens the company's narrative, making it more engaging for investors and stakeholders.

Josh Wilson 00:00:00  So, Seth, how do how do you encourage a CEO as their as their posting on, you know, LinkedIn about personal stuff and then private stuff and then, you know, stuff about the, the business? How do you kind of manage that the balance of what to share and what not to share.

Seth Farbman 00:00:15  Great question. You know, and honestly, that's like trying to figure out what's the whole work life balance thing. Is there ever really an answer? I don't know, I haven't figured it out yet. But when when you're balancing between personal versus corporate, any CEO, he or she has to recognize that very often the the capital markets community is betting on the jockey. They want to see what you're up to. They want to know what you're doing. So, you know, provide a sprinkling of different flavors in your content. You know, one day it could be about the company, you know, FDA approval, different milestones. But then the next day, show a picture of yourself speaking at a conference.

Seth Farbman 00:00:52  People want to know that you're out there. You're trying to make things happen and keep rotating that. Because I think by doing so, you're going to you're going to show your authentic self as, as management of the company. But yet you're also going to provide the story of the company itself. And I think that blend is is important to get across.
