Tips for Public CEOs to Share Press Releases Effectively

In this podcast episode, the discussion focuses on advising public CEOs on effective LinkedIn content sharing practices. Seth Farbman highlights common pitfalls, such as merely posting links to press releases, which often results in low engagement. Instead, they recommend breaking down content into digestible pieces, using compelling quotes, and incorporating visuals to capture attention.

Additionally, Seth advises using relevant hashtags and tagging pertinent individuals or organizations to broaden reach and encourage interaction. The episode underscores the importance of creating engaging, visually appealing content to enhance visibility and foster a more interactive online presence for public CEOs.

Josh Wilson 00:00:00  Is that when you're working with, you know, public CEOs, when you're advising them on, like, social sharing, what what should you not do on on LinkedIn?

Seth Farbman 00:00:11  You know, I think that there's a misconception out there that whether it's the er company or the CEO, himself or herself, it's actually posting the content very often. they'll say to me like, what's the problem? I posted a link to the, to the press release, so I'm getting my information out there. And that's not really the right way to do it because all you're doing is posting a link. People are just scrolling right past it. They don't even realize they missed it. So that same press release. Spend the time or have somebody spend the time and break it up. Take the the, the heading from the press release, include the first sentence or two, maybe a quote, then the link, then some hashtags, maybe tag a few people, and then an awesome dynamic, visual. Because for better or for worse, we still live in a very visual world.

Seth Farbman 00:01:01  So the how not to do it, just the link. How to do it, spend the time, capture their attention, and you'd be shocked at how many more people are going to read that same press release. I think that's the right way to do.
